I have been a fan of fashion for many years and one of the best things about watching the runway is when you spot pure genius in a single item that stays with you long after the show is over.
Jill Sander's has reinvented one of my favorite fashion classics, the little black dress, and it is a triumph!
I'm not sure of the exact material but the dress seems to be made almost of black string that fell along the model's frame like something from a dream. The cut was heavenly, the dress fell just slightly above the top of the knee with a square neckline achieved by two staps in the sleeveless garment. The string cascaded in curves down the front of the dress and left the sides exposed, while covering the middle of the torso.
The dress felt incredibly modern and elegant.
If I was going to name a "must have" from the runway this season, this is absolutely it!
Not only is this a fantastic dress exactly as it is, but I can not wait to see how it translates into the ready to wear world. Congratulations Raf Simons on an your remarkable collection!
